Title:

Is there a limit to attachment file size?

Type:  FAQ

Category:  General System FAQs\Attachments

Attached files should not be larger than 5 megabytes (5,000 kilobytes).  Files larger than this will take longer to attach and view on the Internet.  See the Help document "Scanned Document Quality vs. Attachment File Size" for more information.

Adobe Acrobat contains a file compression tool called "reduce file size", which may be of use in meeting this size limit.  To further reduce file size, the original PDF can be reprinted to PDF, which should significantly reduce the file size.  This is recommended over the "reduce file size" feature, which often does not compress a file to the same degree that reprinting would.
